Murfreesboro, TN – A woman in Tennessee is in critical condition after being trapped between two vehicles in what authorities describe as an unusual accident.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the event took place shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday in the parking area of the LongHorn Steakhouse located at The Avenue mall.

Authorities report that an individual in a wheelchair was entering a modified Honda CRV designed for mail delivery. This indicates that both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle were equipped with accelerator and brake pedals.

A woman in the driver’s seat of a Honda was reversing out of a parking spot to let a man enter the passenger seat, according to police. A woman was assisting the man, who had recently experienced a stroke and lacked feeling on his left side.

The driver and the male passenger both escaped without injuries. Authorities report that the case is under review by the Fatal Accident Crash Team.
