Tupelo, MS– As a result of the dense fog advisory that has been issued for a significant portion of central Mississippi, your morning commute may be affected; thus, we ask that you drive with great caution this morning.
High temperatures will be significantly higher than average, with temperatures in the 70s and conditions that are quite humid for all of us in central Mississippi. There is a remote possibility that there will be a few stray showers during the day and night tonight, but they will be quite dispersed.
For the rest of the day today and tomorrow, I would recommend keeping your rain gear close at hand since there is a possibility that a frontal boundary will push into our day tomorrow.
On Wednesday, we anticipate that the front will eventually move through, bringing with it a greater number of thunderstorms and showers that will become widespread across our region. With this front, we will have a significant drop in temperature throughout the rest of the week; in just one day, we will go from temperatures in the 70s to those in the 50s!
We will continue to keep an eye on the storms and keep you updated on their progress; but, we should be able to avoid any precipitation as we come to the end of the week!
Thursday will bring back sunlight and cooler temperatures, with highs in the 50s and 60s and wake-up temps in the 30s and 40s. Temperatures will remain unseasonably warm through Wednesday, but from Thursday onward, temperatures will return to their normal range.
