Montgomery, AL – Friday and this weekend will see the return of rain, and there is a possibility of severe storms today.
A few showers are expected to accompany the movement of an upper-level wave across the state. From the lower to the middle of the 40s will be the lows.
As the upper-level wave travels east of Alabama, Thursday will be characterized by a sky that is predominantly cloudy with a few showers or sprinkles. In the northeastern part of Alabama, there is a region of high pressure that will bring winds from the east to the southeast across the state, making the weather mild and bringing a dry air wedge from the east. It is expected that the highs will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s.
An additional upper-level wave is expected to travel into Central Alabama on Friday, bringing with it an additional round of scattered showers that will occur throughout the day. There is a possibility of temperatures reaching the lower 60s.
The forecast calls for cloudy skies with isolated showers for the Birmingham Bowl, which will take place at 2:30 p.m. The temperature at the start of the game will be in the lower 60s.
With regard to the forecast for the weekend, the weather pattern is expected to remain lively into the weekend. The cold front that is expected to arrive on Saturday will be accompanied by sporadic showers and a few thunderstorms. It is possible that a few storms will be severe, with blowing gusts and heavy rain. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from the middle to upper 60s.
On Sunday, the cold front will move through, and there will be scattered showers and storms in the morning at that time. There is a possibility of a few severe storms. Highs are expected to be in the 60s. It is expected that there will be between one and three inches of rain.

The arrival of yet another cold front on Tuesday brings with it a few showers and high temperatures in the 60s. Wednesday will bring a change in temperature, with a few showers and highs in the 50s during the day. Both Thursday and Friday will be sunny, cold, and dry, with high temperatures ranging from the 40s to the lower 50s.
