Homeless Man Found Dead in Back of Patrol Car in Houston, Police Officer Discovered Body Before Starting Shift

Houston, TX –  The state of Texas police are conducting an investigation after they reported that a deceased guy was discovered in the backseat of a patrol cruiser.

A statement that was made on Facebook by the Houston Police Department stated that at approximately 2:30 p.m. on December 21, a Houston officer who was assigned to the Mental Health Division was getting ready to start his shift duties.

According to the authorities, the officer proceeded to his patrol car and discovered a deceased male in the backseat of the vehicle.

In spite of the fact that it is unknown how or when the man entered the vehicle, the police have stated that it is plausible that he was looking for shade from the weather.

On the morning of December 21, the National Weather Service reported that the temperature had dropped to a low of 39 degrees. This information was derived from weather sources.

According to KHOU, the police have stated that it is probable that the man remained inside the truck for several days, and it is also possible that he was homeless.

According to the police, the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will be the one to determine the reason for the man’s death as well as his identity.

There is still an ongoing investigation.
