Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Raiders began the season facing numerous injuries, and unfortunately, the situation did not improve as the season progressed, unlike what is typical for many teams. Things have definitely taken a turn for the worse. Malcolm Koonce began the season on IR, and shortly after the first few games, Tyree Wilson also sustained an injury. The Raiders needed to find a player to line up alongside Maxx Crosby.
Charles Snowden and Janarius Robinson have shown both strengths and weaknesses this year, but the team was still in need of an additional player. Tom Telesco acquired K’Lavon Chaisson, a former first-round pick from the Jacksonville Jaguars, who had faced significant challenges and was labeled a bust.
The Raiders recognized his potential, brought him on board, and he’s enjoying a standout season. Chaisson has experienced several outstanding moments this year. He has truly appeared to be a remarkable find for the Raiders.
Chaisson has already exceeded nearly all of his career statistics with the Jaguars in just this season. He’s been impressive, and a player that the Raiders will probably want to retain as a valuable backup, or potentially take on a significant role if they are unable to re-sign Koonce.
This was a brilliant move made by Telesco. This decision deserves more attention when discussing Telesco’s actions in his inaugural season as general manager.
The Raiders are set to face off against the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers in their season finale.
