Oak Brook Sephora Robbery: Group Stole $300 in Merchandise, Officer Threatened

Oak Brook Sephora Robbery Group Stole $300 in Merchandise, Officer Threatened

Two Cook County ladies and two adolescent boys are facing significant charges after allegedly stealing from a Sephora store at Oak Brook Mall on Sunday evening.

Marisol Ocampo, 35, of Chicago, has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, two counts of burglary, and one act of retail theft. Deysi Villalobos, 32, of Melrose Park, is facing identical accusations, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor, three counts of burglary, and three counts of retail theft.

The two teenagers, aged 17 and 15, face charges of burglary, aggravated violence, and retail theft.

Prosecutors say the 17-year-old also intimidated an Oak Brook police officer and is now facing a felony charge of threatening a public official. Both teenagers have been freed with GPS tracking.

According to authorities, the trio entered Sephora around 6 p.m. on Sunday and stole goods worth more than $300. During the heist, the juveniles allegedly hit a store employee. The 17-year-old allegedly threatened a police officer, stating, “I am going to get your a** killed, boy…” I know your family. I know your brother. “You better keep an eye out.”

Prosecutors allege that Ocampo and Villalobos directed one of the adolescents to steal the stuff. Both ladies are also suspected of attacking the same store on December 20 and stealing additional products valued more than $300.

“These offenders came to the Oak Brook mall thinking it would be an easy target, and they found out differently,” said Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis. “While most families were out enjoying some last-minute holiday shopping, this group came here with Grinch-like intentions. They soon found out that we don’t tolerate criminal behavior in Oak Brook and we certainly don’t stand down when threatened by criminals.”

Ocampo and Villalobos are set to appear in court on January 21.

The kids are set to appear in court on January 10.
