Edgecombe County, NC– Deputies from Edgecombe County stated that a guy attempted to attempt to evade charges by flushing narcotics down the toilet when officials came to his house to look for illicit drugs. However, the man was unsuccessful in his attempt.
The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant on a residence located on Bogey Street on December 12th, following an investigation that lasted for several months and focused on the sale and delivery of heroin and fentanyl at the residence of Monted Council.
There were multiple controlled purchases of heroin made by the authorities, and they also pressed fentanyl tablets from Council at his residence. Following the arrival of the Edgecombe County SRT team at the residence for the purpose of conducting a search, Council was prompted to go to the lavatory and flush the drugs.
In the course of the search that was conducted inside the residence, a firearm, some cash, and a small amount of marijuana were discovered. After that, the investigators lifted the lid from the septic tank, and after two flushes, a large bag of fentanyl pills that had been pressed was discovered pushed out of the sewer pipe.
The council was charged with possessing heroin or fentanyl, possessing a handgun because they were a felon, possessing heroin with the aim to manufacture, sell, or distribute it, maintaining a home for the purpose of storing controlled substances, and altering, stealing, or destroying evidence that was associated with criminal activity.
Council was taken into custody and sent to the Edgecombe County Detention Center after being granted a secured bond of $300,000.
