Central Ohio Faces Bitter Cold Single-Digit Temperatures and Snow Expected

MCHS  (Columbus, OH) – The cold air has only intensified in Central Ohio! Temperatures are starting in the single digits, with wind chills on the opposite side of zero degrees. In addition, snow is expected to return before the end of the day.

Temperatures will be extremely chilly today. We’re only expecting to reach around 20 by this afternoon. Winds, albeit strong at times, will keep us feeling like single digits for the remainder of the day. Overnight, we’re back in the single digits, with wind chills approaching negatives.

A low-pressure center will bring in a little wave of snow in the late morning and early afternoon. Snow showers will begin in the northwest and move southeast by this evening. Most of us can expect a light dusting of a few tenths of an inch. Northwest areas may have 1 inch or more of snowfall.

We’re even colder heading into Wednesday but with a little more sunshine during the day. Thursday, we begin to warm up, but a little more snow falls. We’re finally back above freezing on Friday, with gloomy skies.

The weekend begins with temperatures above freezing, but it also heralds the arrival of our next system. Saturday will bring scattered rain showers, followed by a substantial cooldown. Snowflakes return on Sunday, with temperatures in the 20s. More sunshine is expected on Monday, but temperatures will remain in the teens.
