14-Year-Old Wounded in Shooting After Downtown Club Event in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale, FL –  After attending an event at a downtown club, a 14-year-old boy was shot in Fort Lauderdale: The police

In the early hours of Thursday morning in Fort Lauderdale, authorities said that a 14-year-old boy was shot when someone opened fire.

The incident took place in the 200 block of SW 3rd Avenue at approximately 1:29 in the morning.

Officers from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department were dispatched to the location because a big group of adolescents had collected there after attending a bar in the downtown area that was conducting a teen meeting.

“While the crowd was gathered, an unknown suspect within the crowd fired a gun, striking a 14-year-old,” according to law enforcement.

Because of injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening, that adolescent was transported to Broward Health Medical Center.

The police have not made any arrests.

“We heard one, one shot go off,” said Jared Peter, a witness who provided testimony. “There were people running all over the place.”

There is still an ongoing investigation. The authorities are requesting that anyone who has any information on the suspect or the event get in touch with them as soon as possible.
