Wrong-Way Driver Arrested for DUI and License Violations After Christmas Morning Crash in Hillsborough County (1)

An arrest has been made for a woman from Plant City who was involved in a DUI accident in Hillsborough County that hurt a woman from Zephyrhills.

Following a collision that occurred on State Road 39 in the early hours of Christmas morning, a woman from Plant City was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

It was roughly 2:30 in the morning on December 25, 2024 when the collision took place. Plant City resident Flor Tulia Perez Roblero, 45, was at the wheel of a Dodge Grand Caravan that was heading southbound on State Route 39 during the northbound lanes of the highway.

When the lane changed into a split highway north of Knights Griffin Road, Perez Roblero failed to stay to the right and collided with a Kia Sorento driven by a woman from Zephyrhills who was 68 years old. The collision was virtually head-on.

Both drivers experienced injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening and were sent to hospitals in the surrounding area for treatment.

According to the findings of the inquiry, Perez Roblero was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Through the use of a breath sample, she was able to determine that her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.108, which is higher than the permissible limit of 0.08. It was also found by the authorities that Perez Roblero did not possess a driver’s license that was still valid.

Perez Roblero was then taken into custody by Florida Highway Patrol troopers and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol while causing injury and driving without a legal license. It was determined that she will be taken to the Hillsborough County Jail.
