This evening, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia will see the coldest temperatures of the season as a result of a powerful high-pressure system that is originating in the Arctic.
It is anticipated that inland regions will see a severe freeze, with temperatures falling into the low to mid-20s and thick frost to accompany the experience. Temperatures will drop to the mid-20s to low 30s, and there will be a light freeze along the US-301 corridor, which is located immediately west of Interstate 95.
Low temperatures in coastal areas will range from the middle to upper 30s, and there is a possibility of frost. On Wednesday, there will be clear sky and temperatures that are more moderate, ranging from the high 50s to the low 60s. Make preparations for cold weather and protect plants that are sensitive to it.
