Spider-Man: No Way Home, a fan favorite
January 16, 2022
Spider-Man is one of the most iconic superheroes of all time; he is extremely well known all around the world. Marvel has done a phenomenal job with the Spider-Man series being a major fan favorite. Spider-Man: No Way Home is superior to the other Spider-Man movies due to it having all three Spider-Men in the same movie.
The first three Spider-Man movies all use the same actor, Tobey Maguire, who fans love to see as he is considered the “OG” Spider-Man. Then comes The Amazing Spider-Man series starring Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. It is said that Andrew Garfield is an exceedingly good actor which makes this series very appealing to most Marvel fans. In the later series, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, the beloved superhero is played by Tom Holland, a well-known young actor. Tom Holland has appeared many times as Spider-Man in many other movies such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: End Game, which makes him a major contribution to the Marvel series as a whole and even a fan favorite.
With there being three different Spider-Man series, it can start some controversy as to who played the role of Spider-Man the best. It is clear that all three actors played their roles exceptionally well, but who is the best? Marvel decided it was time for something unexpected to happen. In this movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man seeks Doctor Strange, another well known marvel hero, for help after his identity has been exposed. But when Peter’s indecision inadvertently causes a mystical misfire, the multiverse is opened and the unexpected happens.
The multiverse is a group of multiple universes that compromise everything that exists. Meaning that Tobey Maguire is from one universe as Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield is from his own universe as that universe’s Spider-Man, and then Tom Holland plays the role of Spider-Man in his universe. So after fortuitously opening the multiverse, all three “Peter Parkers” end-up in the same universe. Marvel does a great job by building the suspense towards this idea by not only bringing the other Peter Parkers into the same universe, but also the villains that deeply despise him. We first see a few of the villains from the other Spider-Man series and they are trying to kill Spider-Man not knowing they are in the wrong universe. These events foreshadow that the other Peter Parkers could also be in the same universe.
I believe that Marvel did a phenomenal job introducing the other Peter Parkers all into one movie. Spiderman: No Way Home has already blown the charts for amount of viewings in theater, and has already been put very high in the rankings of the Spiderman series. With Marvel putting all three Spider-Men into one movie, this is easily a favored movie by many.
