High school is four years of your life where you grow the most and find who you truly are. Seniors in high school look back on the past four years and they regret the things they did not do while they were in here. Seniors go through so much in this one year, our last; it feels like more stress than the previous three years combined.

I asked a few classmates of mine a few questions, so you can see through the senior’s perspective.

How do you feel about this being the last year of high school?

Mattie Moon: I feel good that this is my last year of high school. I’m sad, because I know a lot of people I’m close with now I won’t be all that close to later, but I’m excited to enter adulthood.

Josie Johnson: I feel excited and nervous for this being my last year of high school. I’m excited to see what happens in the next chapter of my life, but that also brings some anxiety because you never know what could happen.

What is one of the most challenging things for you as a senior?

Amber Threlkeld: The most challenging thing for me as a senior is trying to maintain good grades and stay on track to graduate! Every paper you turn in and every assignment you do counts.

Mattie Moon: Remembering all of my senior stuff like cap and gown, collage stuff, all of that to do is very hard for me.

What has been the highlight of your senior year?

Amber Threkled: The highlight of my senior year would definitely have to be my volleyball teammates and our season. They are my family and they support me on and off the court. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

Throughout high school, many of us played sports and we grew close with all of our teammates. Not only our teammates, but we also grew to love the sports themselves. Sports definitely made many of the seniors their whole high school career, but knowing it is over can also be very dragging.

As seniors we have a lot of responsibility put on our shoulders that we have not had to deal with for the past twelve years. We have college and careers to focus on while also focusing on our school work to stay on track to graduate. We also have to make sure we know dates that are important for every senior. Though we have things we have to focus on and get done, we also want to make sure that we make our senior year the best year yet.

We are ready to see what the rest of our  life is going to pan out to be. We are beaming to start college, jobs and all the new stages of our lives, although the thought of moving on from everything we have ever known is scary. While we have been going to school for the past 12 years this could have been one of the most challenging years for some seniors while perhaps being the easiest for others.

As highschool comes to a close, all we want is to make the best of every situation. We are excited but it is a very bittersweet thing. To all of the underclassmen, we have this one message: Make every moment count!
